Your new battery will come with sufficient acid. Regular charging is the only way to ensure a long life from your battery and work against the natural process of self-discharge. Another type is the self-sealed maintenance-free batteries, which must be applied in the same way as lead-acid type but these batteries have low self-discharge and a longer service life. Then there's the MBK factory sealed maintenance-free batteries which are safer and maintenance free. These fully sealed batteries emit no fumes. They do not need any water topping as compared to a lead-acid battery and thus eliminates any sort of maintenance. The charging time of the MF battery is much shorter compared to an ordinary battery. However they must be full charged before use, unlike the latest Quadflex batteries on the market from Motobatt that are factory activated which means, fully sealed, no acid, no water, no messing about with charging as fully charged, and zero maintenance. Not only are they more powerful, but they are even safer than other batteries as there is no liquid to spill should they ever become damaged.
