We highly recommend charging your AGM battery every 6 weeks when your machine is rarely used or to help keep your battery in good health, with one of our nine stage chargers SKU: 004869 for example or similar smart charger.
The worst thing you can do to a battery is to start your machine every now & then trying to keep it topped up! This is where there is a good chance your battery is always partially discharged and that will have a negative impact all round!
If you must use a trickle charger, do not leave your AGM battery on charge all the time, let the battery slightly discharge, never less than 12.2v otherwise it will ruin the battery and shorten its life. You can use one of our trickle chargers designed specifically for AGM batteries but even then, take it off trickle now and then & follow the advice provided below.
Your battery comes to you pre-conditioned ready to install out of the box. You don't have to add acid, however due to storage variations in the supply chain you should always put the battery on an AGM type charger prior to fitting.
