Bike running rough, misfiring, or struggling after being left standing? Old fuel can leave varnish, gum and sticky deposits in the fuel and intake system. On fuel-injected motorcycles, it may also be worth checking the fine filter screen on the fuel pump assembly inside the tank, as this can become restricted if old fuel has been sitting in the system. If the screen, throttle valve or intake area is dirty or gummed up, Liqui Moly Pro-Line Throttle Valve Cleaner will help clean away varnish and deposits.
Special active solvent for removing typical contamination and deposits found in the intake and throttle valve areas of petrol engines. Loosens and removes contamination such as oil, resin, gum, glue-like deposits, fuel varnish and other build-up that can affect smooth running, throttle response and idle quality.
Helps ensure the operability of moving parts and increases the operational reliability of petrol-powered engines. Suitable for the intake and throttle valve area, including nozzles, holes and small passages where access allows. Only for use in petrol engines.
Application
Create direct access to the throttle valve. Start the engine to begin cleaning.
Spray the Throttle Valve Cleaner across the entire area of the throttle valve in intervals of 2 to 3 seconds at a minimum of 2,000 rpm using the spray probe.
If the engine cannot maintain speed with the intake pipe removed, or cannot be started, disconnect the plug from the air flow meter with the ignition switched off. In this case, the stored fault must be deleted from the engine control unit after cleaning using a suitable diagnostic device, and the air flow meter must be taught in again if necessary.
If a speed fluctuation of more than 1,000 rpm occurs during application, shorten the spray intervals. Make sure that the Throttle Valve Cleaner does not come into contact with the air flow meter, painted components, or delicate sensors.
In the case of stubborn deposits on the throttle valve, in the intake manifold, or on the intake valves, cleaning can be repeated with a second can. After use, allow the engine to run for about 20 seconds at a minimum of 2,000 rpm in order to burn off any residues remaining in the intake system.
