Fitting Endless Cam Chains – Important Installation Note

Our cam chains are supplied as endless loops, just like original equipment (OEM). This design eliminates the need for joining soft rivets or split links, offering superior strength, reliability, and long-term performance, especially in high-revving or high-power engines.

Fitting Procedure Overview:

  • Top-End Removal Required: Endless chains must be looped over the crankshaft sprocket before the top end (cylinder and head) is reinstalled.
  • Fit to Crankshaft: Carefully feed the chain into the crankcase and position it around the crank gear.
  • Reassemble Normally: Refit the piston, cylinder, and head, guiding the cam chain up through to the top.
  • Camshaft Installation: Align the cam sprocket with the chain and complete timing setup according to your workshop manual.

Endless cam chains are standard in most Japanese engines for good reason: they're quieter, stronger, and eliminate potential failure points associated with clip or rivet-type links.

Note: Always refer to your service manual for specific procedures and torque values. If unsure, fitting should be carried out by a qualified technician familiar with engine timing assembly.
